Fixing:

Though there are several free visuals available to fix our hair weaves, we advise our clients to consult, seek help or get assistance from an expert Hair Extension Fixer or visit a salon to attach/install our hair extensions (weaves).

Aftercare/Maintenance:
  • Wrap your hair at night with a silk scarf and a stocking to hold down the scarf.
  • If your weave is curly, then braid four sections of the weave at night to avoid tangling.
  • Indian Remy needs to wash it once a week.
  • Remember that extensions, though well-made, can never match your real hair. You must treat them very gently and take good care.
  • Style weave the hair using heat not more than twice a week.
  • As extensions have been cut at the track, a little bit of shedding is normal.
  • Try not to pull your weave back into a pony tail too hard or too tightly; always be conscious of your front baby hair.
  • Go through the rows of your braid base and gently apply moisturizing hair and soft scalp cream at least once in a week (consult a salon expert for the brands).
  • Don’t put any form of grease or oil on your weave (e.g. olive oil sheen, polish). This will make it look cheap, synthetic and very heavy.
  • If your weave is curly, apply a small amount of lotion in your palm and rub all over it, so that it forms a thin layer of the product; loosely apply it to the hair to maintain curl.
  • Full head weaves should be kept for a maximum of six weeks.
  • Natural part weaves should be left for 5 weeks (try not to straighten your top natural hair too much).
  • Track extensions should be re-done every 6 weeks, but if you want to keep them for two months, you can just ensure the root is not tangling.
  • While removing the weave, get your girlfriend or partner to do it, so that you’re not cutting your own hair.
  • Gently lift thread with an end of comb and then cut; do not pull out the weave.
  • When removing braid base, take your time and be patient (always remove hair on your day off).
Washing Weaves:
  • Have a shower and let the warm water soak through your scalp to relax and clean. Avoid rubbing the hair roughly.
  • Use a mild shampoo and conditioner.
  • Always avoid rubbing the base cornrows, as it will cause the weave to drop faster and may cause breakage.
  • Once a conditioner has been applied, rinse it out; again, do not rub the hair.
  • Towel dry the hair downwards and always brush it with a paddle brush.
  • While brushing, hold the hair firmly with your palm, and then brush it from ends up.
  • Ensure all under braids are completely dried; if they haven’t dried in a day, get a blow dryer and apply hot air over the braids to dry.
